Evokes Technologist Training

Our training program continues to evolve while remaining one of the most stringent in the industry.

  1. Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor of science degree and/or have extensive clinical experience and possess registrations in Electroencephalography (R.EEGT) or Evoked Potentials (R.EPT).

  2. Before candidates enter the operating room, they sit through a 40 hour introductory course in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) taught by our training partner, The Larry Head Institute.

  3. An eighteen month fellowship program follows, as candidates work alongside an experienced Certified Intraoperative Neuromonitoring technologist (CNIM) in daily scheduled procedures, and take call with a CNIM to gain experience in trauma and emergent cases.

  4. Quarterly case reviews, competencies, and classroom instruction taught by The Larry Head Institute as well as our in house team of trainers accompanies the vast surgery experience. Upon completion of the fellowship program, candidates are required to pass an internal protocol test before sitting for the CNIM or R.EPT exams.

  5. All of our technologists are required to become 'Double Boarded' (CNIM, and/or R.EPT/R.EEGT) which allows them to have the clinical as well as the intraoperative knowledge of the END field.  It is our experience that this requirement produces a well rounded technologist proficient in not only the surgical cases, but also in any technical trouble shooting aspects that may arise.
